City Council - Keith Bird  Keith Bird is currently serving his third term as City Councilman. Keith and his wife Marjorie have lived in Meridian 39 years. As a strong advocate for youth in the community, he brought Y Basketball to Meridian in 1978, helped organize American Legion Baseball 1979, helped build Brooks Baseball Field in Storey Park 1982, and has worked with Youth Optimist Football for 38 years. Keith was selected for the Optimist Football Hall of fame in 1988.
Keith has actively supported and been a member of the Meridian Athletic Association, Meridian Athletic Roundtable Association for 24 years and Meridian Speedway for 16 years. He was a member of Meridian Centennial Committee 1993 that raised funds for restoring the Pine Street School and helped in the celebration of the Meridian Centennial. He was voted the Meridian’s Man of the Year in 1996. Keith and Marjorie Bird have been married 42 years. They have 3 children and 10 grandchildren.
